In May 2017, AVE Services had the honour of providing sound reinforcement for the Annual Mayor Making Ceremony — our third consecutive year supporting this important civic event in Marlborough.
A Historic Civic Occasion
The Annual Meeting of the Town Council took place on 15th May 2017 in the presence of distinguished guests including Mrs. Sarah Troughton, Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, and Lady Marland, the High Sheriff. During the meeting, councillors took their seats for a new four-year term, and Cllr. Mervyn Hall was elected as the new Mayor alongside Cllr. Lisa Farrell as Deputy Mayor for 2017/18.
The ceremony also featured moments of celebration and gratitude:
-
Cllr. Noel Barrett-Morton, the outgoing Mayor, presented Mr. Tony Gray with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding service to the town.
-
Former Town Councillor Stewart Dobson, retiring after an extraordinary 46 years of service, was honoured with a first-edition print of the Town Hall. He offered his well-wishes to the new council and encouraged the next generation of councillors.
