Home to 6000 people, Faringdon is a market town in Oxfordshire, England, not to be confused with Little Faringdon is West Oxfordshire with a population of 63.

In 2004 Faringdon became the first town in the South East of England to achieve Fairtrade Town status. Faringdon is notable for the dyed pigeons at Faringdon House, a custom started by the eccentric Lord Berners in the early 20th Century.

Faringdon House was originally damaged in the English Civil War. Its owner at the time, a royalist named Sir Robert Pye was besieged by his own son, a parliamentary leader. Faringdon House is currently owned by writer Sofka Ziovieff.

Since 2004, Faringdon has held an arts festival over one weekend in early July.
