On 3rd January, AVE Services provided audio visual equipment for the Innovative Farmers Great Beer Debate, held at St. Edmund’s Hall, Oxford.

The debate explored how different varieties of barley and hops impact the flavour of beer, as well as the challenges currently faced by British beer producers.

This event followed the success of the previous year’s Great Cheese Debate, and once again brought together attendees from both Oxford conferences as part of a programme of fringe events celebrating British farming.

Speakers Included:

  • Emma Gilleland – Director of Brewing, Marston’s PLC

  • Greg Pilley – Owner, Stroud Brewery

  • Rob Saunders – Agronomist, H.L. Hutchinson Ltd

  • Will Godwin – Assistant Manager, Hampton Estate

  • Chris Garratt – Head Maltster & Managing Director, Warminster Maltings Ltd

  • David Wilson LVO – Farm Manager, Duchy Home Farm

The debate was chaired by Anna Hill of BBC Radio 4’s Farming Today.
