A brilliant charity event at a standout Wiltshire venue: we were asked to provide full AV equipment hire and technical support for a Help for Heroes charity auction dinner night, hosted at Carvers Hill Estate in Shalbourne (Marlborough, Wiltshire)
The evening began with a live performance from a local singer and guitarist, before guests enjoyed a three-course meal and an energetic charity auction featuring interviews and a panel discussion.

Carvers Hill Estate is a family-owned vineyard and winery near Marlborough in Wiltshire, set within the rolling landscape of the North Wessex Downs, and offers a superb setting for private dinners and events.
Shalbourne itself sits in Wiltshire with a Marlborough post town (SN8), making it an ideal location for private event hire in the area.
The AV brief: charity auction + panel discussion
For this event, the priority was clear, confident speech for interviews and the panel discussion, alongside background music and support for the live performer-plus reliable playback for video and presentation content throughout the night.
Our team provided a sound engineer on-site to manage the running order, microphones, music cues, and general AV support, so the organisers could focus on guests and fundraising.

To deliver a strong, controlled sound in the room and keep everything running smoothly, we supplied:
- 4-speaker PA system – RCF J8 column speakers (ideal for speech clarity and even coverage)
- 7x wireless microphones – Sennheiser radio mics for interviews + panel discussion
- Digital mixing console – Behringer X32 for fast scene changes and consistent levels
- 2x 65″ screens – Hisense displays for content visibility around the room (large screen hire)
- Event laptop for presentations, video and music playback
- Decimator MD-HX for dependable video signal conversion/scaling between sources and screens
- Sound engineer / technician for live mixing, mic handovers, and cue management
On the night
The night kicked off with live singer/guitarist audio – balanced to sit comfortably in the room -then we shifted into dinner ambience and introduced the auction segments.
For the panel discussion and interviews, our focus was:
- consistent vocal levels across all speakers
- quick mic handovers to keep momentum
- clean playback of video/presentation content to the screens
- calm, behind-the-scenes AV support so the event stayed on schedule
