National Geographic Outdoor Cinema Screening at Barnett Hill Hotel
AVE Services had the pleasure of providing event AV equipment for a private cinema screening hosted by National Geographic on 10th October at the beautiful Barnett Hill Hotel near Guildford, Surrey.
Set back from the main roads, Barnett Hill Hotel offers a peaceful and picturesque setting — perfect for private events and outdoor cinema hire. This unique location allowed guests to enjoy a truly immersive viewing experience under the stars.
An Exclusive Outdoor Cinema Experience
The private screening showcased a highly anticipated film, which was officially released in cinemas in December 2018. For this special evening, however, the film was shown exclusively to National Geographic employees (and us!).
Guests were treated to a cosy atmosphere with American-style snacks, fire pits, and blankets to keep everyone warm throughout the night.

About the Film – Free Solo
The film shown was Free Solo, which follows Alex Honnold’s journey as he attempts his historic rope-free climb of Yosemite National Park’s El Capitan. Directed by E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, this award-winning National Geographic documentary is a breathtaking look at determination, courage, and the human spirit.
